I was pretty ambivalent about Andrew after Demons Do It Better. Yes, he was a great character, but did he have what it takes to be a main character?
Well, the answer is a resounding YES!!! Andrew is amazing!
I'll admit Andrew acts like an 800 year old frat boy, but that is only surface level. He's the first one to play, tease, and make a fool of himself, but when the sh*t hits the fan, he's a deadly, protective man who will do anything for those he cares about.
I found One Bite With a Vampire so much more romantic than Demons Do It Better. The relationship between Noah and Andrew actually starts almost from the beginning. At first, Noah very reluctantly works with Andrew. Once the threat to Noah and Sam escalates, Noah finds himself in a forced proximity situation with Andrew, where he gives in to his attraction to have hate sex (from Noah's perspective), but this very quickly changes to feelings. Even before the sex, though, Noah and Andrew’s relationship was already moving from enemies to friends, even if Noah was in denial and just couldn’t admit that he liked Andrew after all.
The main bad guy action does not happen until around 80%, with the rest of the story exploring Noah's abilities. Although this has been criticized, it was actually essential. Noah's background, traits, and abilities are complex, and it takes a while for everyone to work out precisely what is happening. This kind of development couldn't take place in a chapter or two. By spreading it over the majority of the book, Noah's progression in learning what he can do is organic and realistic. The arc involving the malevolent Dr Tish is far from over. This is just another battle in the team's war against his perverse objectives.

I read/listened to One Bite With a Vampire using Whispersync, so I was able to experience this adventure with the marvellous vocal talents of Joel Leslie. Joel's voices, acting, and comedic timing take what is already a fantastic story and makes it epic! I would highly HIGHLY recommend the audio!
One Bite With a Vampire should not be read as a standalone. The story begins right after the events of Demons Do It Better. It assumes knowledge of this story as there is minimal background or explanation of previous events or character histories.
I absolutely adored One Bite With a Vampire. It was a wonderful experience packed with adventure, suspense, romance, and a good dose of heat. This book is also hilarious! For once, I was happy about having to wear a mask in public to hide that I was smiling so much that I probably looked like I was slightly unhinged!
I cannot wait to jump into the next book!
